Mysterious giant structures discovered on Mars

Significant and heavy structures have been found beneath the surface of Mars, sparking scientists' intense interest.

A study by researchers has confirmed the existence of a large subsurface structure, measuring around 1,750 kilometers in diameter, situated approximately 1,100 kilometers beneath the surface.

These discoveries could cast doubts on long-held beliefs within the field of geology.

"A possible large mass, believed to be light, has been detected deep within Mars, potentially originating from its mantle," the authors state in their study published in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Planets.

"It suggests that Mars could still be experiencing movements within it, resulting in the formation of new volcanic features on the surface," they added.
